Book a Free 15-Minute Counselling Consultation
Choosing a counsellor is a big decision. After all, starting therapy means trusting someone you have only just met with deeply personal things.
Fifteen minutes won’t tell you everything, but it is often enough to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
During this short video call, I will invite you to tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and what you are hoping for. You can also ask me about how I work.
It’s a chance to see whether your needs are a good fit with my training and experience, and whether you feel comfortable talking with me. There’s no pressure to make a decision during the call.
If this sounds helpful, pick a convenient time below and let’s talk.
Common Questions About Your Free Consultation
What happens on a free therapy consultation call?
1
First, you’ll talk me through what's brought you to therapy now, and a little about your history with counselling, if you've had any. Then I’ll tell you a little about the way I work. You can ask questions about my background, my approach, how sessions run week to week, whatever helps you decide.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No. You don’t need to prepare or share your whole story. A general sense of what you are finding difficult and what you would like support with is enough for this first conversation. Some people find it easier to have a few lines jotted down beforehand, but that’s entirely up to you.

Where does the consultation take place?
3
The free consultation takes place online by video call. Once you book, you will receive confirmation and details of how to join the call.
Is the consultation a therapy session?
4
No. It is a brief introductory call rather than a full session. Its purpose is to help us work out if we're a good fit before either of us commits to anything. We won't get into things in great depth here.
Can the consultation be done by phone instead of video?
5
Video's my preference, mostly because it's closer to what the sessions themselves look like. If video genuinely isn't possible for you, message me and we'll schedule a phone call.
Does booking a consultation commit me to counselling?
6
Not at all. There is no obligation to book a session afterwards. You are welcome to take some time to think about whether you feel comfortable working with me.
What happens if we decide to work together?
7
If we both feel that counselling with me would be suitable, we can discuss availability and arrange your first full session. I offer counselling sessions in therapy rooms in Brighton and Hove or fully online, depending on your needs and availability.
